Mr Sri Mahalingam is a highly recommended award-winning ENT Consultant Surgeon who practices in Tunbridge Wells and Central London (Harley Street). He graduated from University College London, and has undergone rigorous training in all aspects of Adult and Paediatric ENT in prestigious centres in London, Cambridge, Kent, Surrey and Sussex, supplemented by further exposure in Centres of Excellence North America (New York and Toronto). As well as treating all general adult ENT Conditions, having trained at the Evelina Children’s Hospital (London), he is also experienced in looking after children with ENT problems.
Mr Mahalingam is one of very few ENT surgeons in the UK to have gained highly specialist training in rhinology (the management of nasal and sinus conditions). Having been awarded the European Rhinology Society Fellowship Prize, he has undertaken the Advanced Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship in Winchester/Southampton through international competition, which has allowed him to further his passion and sub-specialist interest in all adult and paediatric nasal, sinus problems and facial reconstructive surgery. He was subsequently one of the first two surgeons in the UK to have been awarded the British Society of Facial Plastic Surgery fellowship prize providing him with enhanced training in facial plastic surgery.
By mirroring his NHS practice and private practice, he prides himself in providing his patients with the best possible care.
Mr Mahalingam has obtained the following qualifications: MBBS, BSc (1st class Hons), MSc, DO-HNS, MRCS (ENT), FRCS (ORL-HNS), PGCE, MAcadMEd.
He is actively involved in research in ENT and adopts novel treatments from across the world, in order to benefit his patients. He has completed a BSc at King’s College London (ranking top student), and MSc in Surgical Sciences at the University of Edinburgh in parallel with his surgical training.
He has led the national study for the British Rhinology Society during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic highlighting the impact on patient care. He has published over twenty-five peer-reviewed papers and book chapters for international publications and has been invited to give over thirty oral presentations at scientific meetings across the world.
Mr Mahalingam aims to ensure the best possible care. He believes in developing a strong relationship with his patients through excellent communication, as well as collaboration with colleagues particularly when managing complex conditions. He is a strong advocate of monitoring patient outcomes. This is through a process of audit, for which he has been awarded with multiple regional and national prizes.
Mr Mahalingam is also a keen surgical trainer, and believes in the importance of passing knowledge onto other surgeons which will ultimately improve patient care. He has been invited as faculty member for prestigious international and regional ENT Surgery courses. He has also developed the ENT Teaching materials in his role as Associate Lecturer for Kent & Medway Medical School.
